Today, the folks at Engadget have managed to get their hands on some of the renders of the upcoming handset, spoiling LG’s surprise party. Unlike the Galaxy Round from Samsung that had a curved screen from left-to-right, the LG G Flex is going to sport a screen that is curved from top to bottom....
LG is one of the few OEMs that ships its devices with a locked down bootloader and does not offer any official bootloader unlocking tool as well. While the company had initially promised to release a bootloader unlocking tool for the G3, it decided against it later for some reason. Thanks to a locked down bootloader, third-party development for LG’s latest flagship has been severely crippled. That changes today though, as Team Codefire has managed to find a way to unlock the bootloader of all variants of the LG G3....
A report from earlier today had claimed that Google had cancelled the second-generation ‘muskie’ in favor of an even bigger ‘taimen’ device. With HTC manufacturing the smaller ‘walleye’, it was assumed that the company was also going to manufacture ‘taimen.’ Turns out as per a bug posted on the AOSP issue tracker, LG is possibly the OEM that is manufacturing ‘taimen’ for Google. The bug posted was related to USB PD Compliance failure, with a Google engineer chipping in and asking the bug to be closed and moved inside the relevant “Partner > External > LGE > Taimen > power” folder....

Today, as expected, HTC officially announced its newest flagship smartphone, the U11+. The U11+ offers quite a few of the elements HTC introduced with the successful U11 that launched earlier this year, but improves certain elements to boost the appeal. That includes an increase of screen size, with the U11+ offering a 6-inch Super LCD panel with a resolution of 2880×1440. HTC also reduced the bezels on the U11+, which should make it easier to use despite having the larger screen....
