Google has partnered with Indian OEMs like Intex, Lava, Karbonn and Micromax to launch cheap $30 Android Go smartphones in the country. Micromax will likely be the first Indian OEM to launch its Android Oreo Go smartphone priced at around Rs 2,000 in January, with other OEMs to follow. The Micromax smartphone launch is expected to take place around the Republic Day as per a source of Factor Daily. Android Oreo Go Edition is Google’s revamped effort to capture the sub-$100 smartphone market in India....

Dashing yet not-so-different design The Lenovo K6 Power comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS display. The LG G6 sales seem to have started on a great note in LG’s home country, South Korea, where the phone sold more than 30,000 units within a couple of days of its launch. In addition, the handset’s total pre-orders were upwards of 82,000. These numbers, as per Kim Dong-won, analyst at KB Securities, is a “record high” compared to previous LG flagship devices. The numbers were also more than double of the Galaxy S7 edge....

If you are a regular Netflix user, you may know that the web version automatically plays the preview of videos as you hover your mouse on the video thumbnail. In Summary Apple’s added some really useful features to the iPhone with the iOS 16 update. The ability to view Wi-Fi passwords of previously connected networks is one such feature you’ll appreciate. With this feature, you can now easily view the Wi-Fi password of the network you’re currently connected to or the one you’ve connected to previously right inside the Settings app. Sure, you could always look up your network’s password through your router’s admin page, but it’s not the most feasible solution, and you can’t use it to find other networks’ passwords....

Earlier this month, HTC unveiled a cheaper variant of its flagship handset in China featuring a plastic unibody design and without an UltraPixel camera — the One E8. The phone was primarily intended at capturing the extremely price sensitive market of China and it looks like the company has succeeded in doing that by selling 50, 000 units of it in only 15 minutes. Apparently, over 2 million unit of the handset have been pre-booked as well, but since pre-booking a handset does not require any kind of pre-payment, the number does not really carry much weight in terms of sale....

Tata Tele had tried to exit the telecom market earlier as well, and Tata Sons is known to have held talks with Vodafone, but an agreement did not materialize for various reasons. Now the news in the market is that Tata Sons is once again trying to get rid of Tata Tele by merging it with Airtel. Yes, all of this is still rumor and speculation at this point with neither company saying anything meaningful, but I do believe that the move is worth a closer look....
